Saturday stats

This was NOT a good day. Especially since I spent 90% of it in an airport terminal where there were no stores open. At all. Just a vending machine. Horrible. AND I never even made it back to Charlotte. I get to stay in TN until Friday. Ugh. Good thing this hotel has a laundry room.

Exercise:
35 minutes elliptical
10 minutes pilates

Food:
Breakfast: Egg patty, waffle, syrup, and OJ
Lunch: Zaxby's - 5 chicken fingers and a side of fried white cheddar cubes
Snack: Some almonds that I thankfully had in my purse
Dinner: small cheese pizza (it's wasn't that big, but I ate way more than I needed to. But since I had no real food between noon and 9pm, I was ravenous).

I'd like to say tomorrow will be better...but I'll be attempting to amuse myself in Chattanooga, so I can't imagine it will be good.

Friday stats

Today was bad for a variety of reasons, not the least of which was my diet. We were supposed to fly back to Charlotte from Chattanooga, but the flight got cancelled and the next one we could get on is Saturday at 4pm. Hopefully the snow will be done by then. Though Blake says that the roads in Charlotte are HORRIBLE, so who knows. ANYWAY.

Exercise:
35 minutes elliptical
10 minutes strength training (upper body)

Food:
Breakfast: egg & cheese biscuit and a waffle with syrup, OJ
Lunch: Mexican: spinach and mushroom quesadilla (not too much cheese) and a reasonable amount of chips and salsa
Snack: protein shake
Dinner: (this gets ugly because I didn't want to drive in the snow, so I ate what they had for sale in the lobby). Sweet & Salty granola bar and a big chocolate chip cookie.

I really hope our flight gets us back to Charlotte tonight...if not, I guess I'm doing laundry in the hotel and staying the weekend here...because I was going to have to come back here on Sunday night anyway. BOO.

Thursday stats

Not a good day. The late nights are starting to get to me.

Exercise:
35 minutes elliptical
10 minutes strength training - lower body

Food:
Breakfast: see yesterday
Lunch: BLT on wheat and fries
Snack: protein shake
Dinner: Zaxby's salad again (same as Monday) and a giant Mrs. Fields cookie clocking in at 310 calories. Oops.

I'd like to say the weekend will be better but it won't...I'm going to have no food in the house because I have to come back here next week anyway...I can't wait to get back to Charlotte and be able to stay there for 4 weeks. It's going to be awesome.

Wednesday stats

So-so day...

Exercise:
35 minutes elliptical
10 minutes pilates mat workout

Food:
Breakfast: waffle and syrup, OJ, and the egg and biscuit portion of one of those Jimmy Dean breakfast biscuits. The cheese all slid right off the damn thing in the microwave, and the bacon was a bit jiggly...which I hate.
Lunch: Chick-fil-a - 8 piece nuggets with a side of chicken noodle soup (under 450 calories is an awesome fast food lunch)
Snack: protein shake
Dinner: Logan's - one roll, a handful of peanuts, grilled chicken with a side of rice and a grilled veggie kabob, and a tiny chocolate mousse dessert

I'm going to be so pumped to be at home this weekend and eating whatever I want. I'm tired of restaurants already.

Tuesday Stats

So-so day. I'm so full now I can barely stay awake, so I'm definitely done now.

Exercise:
35 minutes elliptical
10 minutes lifting (upper body)

Food:
Breakfast: belgian waffle with syrup
Snack: granola bar
Lunch: Panera You Pick Two with a cup of french onion soup, a half chicken caesar salad, and a piece of baguette
Snack: Protein shake (gross)
Dinner: Chinese take out - chicken with broccoli and white rice (about twice as much as I probably should have had)

Being out of town is hard enough, but when it's busy season and you need to work late and get take-out for dinner, it's even worse. Tomorrow night we're actually going out to dinner, so I'll probably have a better food day then.

Monday Stats

This is going to have to be a quick one...

Exercise: none. I was way too tired, so I took a day off. We didn't get to the hotel until after 10 Sunday night and I had a terrible time sleeping. So I slept in a bit.

Food:
Breakfast: belgian waffle (I know, but they're so good), syrup (sparingly), and OJ
Lunch: Moe's junior burrito with chicken, grilled peppers, onions, and mushrooms, lettuce, and olives with chips and a side of queso and salsa
Snack: protein shake
Dinner: Zaxby's house salad with fried chicken and light vinaigrette dressing with a piece of texas toast

I'll try to be better today...I did work out this morning, so that's already an improvement.

Monday, January 25, 2010

Sunday stats

Not great, but not awful, I guess.

Exercise:
35 minutes Wii Your Shape
10 minutes Wii Fit games

Food:
Breakfast: bowl of flaxseed oatmeal
Lunch: two egg, cheese, red pepper, and mushroom omelet, two pieces of wheat toast with smart balance, and a glass of OJ
Snack: 90 cal chewy granola bar, then a handful of pita chips, then to stop the eating, I had my nasty protein shake. That did the trick.
Dinner: cucumber salad and a lean cuisine

Today got a bit rough...I'll update later or tomorrow.

Sunday weigh-in

I expected the worst from this weigh in because I went out to dinner the past two nights, but it wasn't horrible. I'm down to 139. So now my goal is to maintain that weight while I'm out of town for the next two weeks. They have lots of good chain restaurants that post nutritional info online where I'm headed, so that will definitely help. And I'm planning to do cardio once a day and either lift (I'm bringing resistance bands because they don't have free weights at the gym) or do pilates in the evening as well.

I'm also bringing my terrible protein shakes along with me. Ugh. I almost had to have one for breakfast just now due to the lack of food in the house, but I found a packet of oatmeal THANK GOD. I had to make it with water instead of milk, as we have no milk, but it was definitely better than the damn protein.

Ok I'm off to work out now. I didn't do too much by way of working out yesterday, so I may increase my Wii Fit time today to make up for it. I'll check in either later tonight or tomorrow with today's stats. Hope you had a good weekend!

Saturday, January 23, 2010

Saturday

Not a great one...when we run out of food in the house and I'm about to go out of town, I tend to eat out a lot. Boo.

Exercise:
35 minutes Wii Your Shape
About a half mile of extra walking (lame, I know)

Food:
Breakfast: bacon egg and cheese bagel from breuggers, OJ
Lunch: special K with skim milk
Snack: protein shake with a PB chaser
Dinner: fajita wrap (grilled chicken, peppers, onions, rice, corn, cheese) and fries

Maybe it'll get better tomorrow?

Friday stats

We had a dinner date with Carrie and Scott last night, so this was a bit of a rough one.

Exercise:
35 minutes Wii EA Active
10 minutes Wii Fit aeorbics

Food:
Breakfast: the usual omelet and OJ
Snack: Clementine
Lunch: Lean cuisine and a cucumber salad
Snack: (horrible) protein shake
Dinner: we split a spinach and artichoke dip 4 ways, then I had grilled chicken over tortellini in tomato sauce (a reasonable serving size fortunately), and Carrie and I split a piece of ice cream pie. Oh, and I had a glass of Shiraz.

Hopefully today will be a better day. I have to weigh in tomorrow since I'm going out of town tomorrow night, so I'll see where I stand then.

Friday, January 22, 2010

Got it!

I'm sitting here drinking my (horrible tasting) protein shake, and I've finally thought of a way to describe the after taste. You know how when you have a lot of letters to send and envelopes to lick your mouth starts to taste all envelope-y? That is the after taste. And I do NOT understand who the women are that are reviewing this stuff on GNC.com and saying that it is delicious. It is not.

Blake tried one this morning because he thought I was exaggerating. He agrees now that I was not. And he made his with milk instead of water, so it probably acutally tasted better than mine do.

In other news, you know what kills the aftertaste? A teaspoon sized dollop of low fat peanut butter directly off of a spoon. Does this negate the effects of the protein? I don't know. But I think it's the fastest way to get the taste out of my mouth. :)

Thursday Stats

This was an interesting one. Read on...

Exercise:
30 minutes Wii Your Shape (I really wanted to kill Jenny this morning)
15 minutes Wii Fit Yoga
50 minutes pilates private lesson

Food:
Breakfast: 2 egg omelet with veggies and cheese, OJ
Snack: Clementine
Lunch: turkey and cucumber on a sandwich thin, baby carrots, and a mini baby ruth
Snack: New Safely Slim protein Shake ***, dove chocolate square
Dinner: lean cuisine and a side salad, dove chocolate square

***OH MY GOD YOU GUYS. THESE ARE THE WORST TASTING PROTEIN SHAKES ON THE PLANET. Blake has some delicious protein shakes that are awesome (and totally not good for my weight loss goals) and I used to dominate Slim Fast back in the day (the powder mix with skim milk, not the gross pre-made stuff). But this is HORRIBLE. It was only 8 ounces and it was difficult to choke down. The aftertaste was like...cardboard, I guess? Terrible. And I have 30 packets now which I paid a pretty penny for, so I WILL be consuming them all. And let me say this GNC: if these damn things don't seriously assist me in my weight loss exploits, I am OUTTIE. I may try making it with hot water tomorrow so it's like hot chocolate? I don't know. I had to have a piece of candy afterwards to get the taste out of my mouth. DO NOT WANT. Of course, if I truly drop more weight and it actually improves my muscle definition, I may change my mind. But I implore you to not be fooled until I pass further judgement on this product.

Wednesday stats

Subtitle: Oops.

Exercise:
30 minutes Wii Your Shape
15 minutes Wii Fit yoga

Food:
Breakfast: veggie/cheese omelet and some OJ
Snack: clementine and some low fat string cheese
Lunch: turkey and cucumber sandwich, baby carrots, and a chocolate square
Snack: granola bar
Dinner: lean cuisine and a side salad
Oops: Chocolate chip cookie from Jason's Deli.

Hear me out on this one: First of all, ti was not a HUGE cookie like the ones at Panera or anything. It wasn't really big at all. My best guess is that is probably had 200 calories. Here's what happened. I went in the kitchen during dinner to ask Susan a question and there was all of this DELICIOUS smelling pasta in there. So I left. I had my favorite frozen entree with me an I was ok with eating that instead. But then when I went in to make my dinner, the tray of desserts was still out. And the cookies were so soft and tasty looking. So I ate one. I'll just have to be extra good tomorrow to make up for it. Oh well. Can't beat myself up over it I guess. It happens.

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Tuesday Stats

This is going to be easy.

Exercise:
30 minutes EA Active
15 minutes Wii Fit aerobics

Food: Exactly the same as yesterday, but remove the mini Baby Ruth from my dinner and add a piece of gum. Boo-yah.

Monday, January 18, 2010

Monday Stats

I feel that it's safe to tell you my stats from today right now because I'm still at work, I won't be home until about 9:30, and at that point there's no way I'm going to eat anything else. Both because I'll be too tired and because there's really no snack food in my house right now since I'm never there.

Exercise:
30 minutes Wii Your Shape
15 minutes Wii Fit Yoga
50 minute pilates mat class

Food:
Breakfast: two egg omelet with chopped red bell peppers and mushrooms and low fat sharp cheddar, small glass of OJ
Snack: a clementine and a low fat string cheese
Lunch: turkey and cucumber on an Arnold's sandwich thin, some baby carrots, and a dove chocolate peanut butter square
Snack: Sweet & Salty granola bar (needed pre-pilates energy)
Dinner: lean cuisine, side salad, and a mini baby ruth.

At first I felt like I ate a lot today, and then I looked back and calculated the calories and it really wasn't that bad. I feel like I may be able to start cutting back at some meals soon though. I might only put one egg in my breakfast omelets or something. I'm here this week and then gone for the next two weeks, but when I get back from that I'll be in town for 4 weeks so that would be a good time for a change in plan I think.

Sunday stats/Monday weigh-in

SUPER busy right now...so this is going to have to be fast. Sunday stats first:

Exercise: 35 minutes Wii Your Shape
10 minutes Wii Fit aerobics/balance games

Food:
Breakfast: egg and cheese on a sandwich thin, clementine, OJ
Lunch: Turkey and cucumber sandwich on a sandwich thin and a low fat string cheese
Snack: Bag of microwave popcorn (half of which didn't even pop...my microwave is lame)
Dinner: leftover ziti from Saturday night

Monday weigh-in: 140.
So I actually lost a pound last week? Awesome. If I can lose 1-2 this week that would be great, because I'll be out of town the next two weeks and being out of town always makes it hard to do anything but maintain. We'll see how it goes.

Sunday, January 17, 2010

Weekly goals

I guess we'll see when I weigh myself tomorrow if I hit my goal last week of weight maintenance, but I already rewarded myself, so hopefully I will.

I'm in Charlotte this week, so weight loss should be doable. Here's a brief lowdown on my eating and exercise goals:

Exercise: Wii workouts for 45 minutes every morning
Pilates mat class on Monday and private lesson on Thursday
Tap dancing class on Tuesday
I'm considering going to Yoga on Friday evening, we'll see how I feel by then

Food: Usually something like this (keep in mind that I'll be working 11-12 hour days, so I'll be eating lunch and dinner in the office):
Breakfast: two egg, cheese, mushroom, and red pepper omelet with a small glass of OJ
Lunch: sandwich with a side of baby carrots
Dinner: lean cuisine meal and a side salad
Snacks: right now I have in the house almonds, low fat string cheese, small squares of chocolate, clementines, and I'm expecting to get the protein shakes I ordered at some point, so I may work those in as well. I'll usually do some combination of these things for about 200-250 calories a day.

That's about it right now. I'm going to go reward-free this week and hold off until after next week for my next reward...because I already know what I want it to be. I'll explain later. :)

Saturday stats

Not a terrible day considering we didn't have much food in the house until after we went grocery shopping. And I even forced myself to work out even though I wanted to murder Jenny McCarthy the entire time.

Exercise:
30 minutes Wii Your Shape
15 minutes Wii Yoga

Food:
Breakfast: two pieces french toast with light syrup (We actually had white bread in the house for once, I had to take advantage)
Lunch: Turkey, cheese, and cucumber on a sandwich thin, a handful of baked tortilla chips
Dinner: Baked Ziti (made in the crock pot with low fat cheese) and a side salad

I also decided to "reward" myself for the past two weeks by ordering some awesome protein shakes from GNC. They're formulated for women and weight loss (as opposed to men and weight gain, like the ones Blake drinks) and they come in individual serving packets, which means I can actually bring them with me when I travel. And for 110 calories a piece, they'll be a good afternoon snack and chocolate fix in one. I'll review them on here once I've tried them for a few days. :)

Saturday, January 16, 2010

Friday stats

Friday was NOT a great day. To start, I was too tired to work out in the morning, and then we had a really lengthy travel debacle Friday night. Bad news. But at least I got the off day I thought I needed, right?

Exercise:
None.

Food:
Breakfast: A piece of french toast with a little syrup, a mini croissant, melon cubes, and OJ
Lunch: tomato soup and a spinach, artichoke, red onion, tomato, and feta sandwich
Snack: sweet & salty granola bar
Dinner: half of a chicken sandwich from au bon pain

I'm so happy to get to be in Charlotte for this whole week. But I do have to work late, so here comes the return of the Lean Cuisine dinners. Yay?

Thursday, January 14, 2010

Thursday stats

As expected, this was definitely the worst day yet. At least I'm home early enough to guarantee a trip to the gym in the morning.

Exercise:
40 minutes elliptical
about a 2 mile round trip walk to/from dinner

Food:
Breakfast: 2 mini croissants filled with eggs, bacon, cheese, peppers, and onions; melon cubes, and OJ
Lunch: small veggie pizza (light on the cheese), and a beer (it was a rough day)
Dinner: glass of wine, chicken marsala and mushroom risotto, one piece italian bread
Dessert: decaf cafe au lait and a beignet at cafe du monde (had to).

I have to detox myself this weekend. I'm pumped to head home and not have to eat at restaurants again for a full week.

Wednesday stats

New Orleans may be starting to get to me.

Exercise:
40 minutes elliptical
20 minutes lifting

Food:
Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, mini croissant, melon cubes, OJ
Lunch: 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, Fruit and Walnut salad (sans yogurt)
Snack: handful of roasted almonds
Dinner: Susan and I split a 3-cheese plate and an order of bruschetta and I also had 3 oz of wine

Chicken McNuggets are my weakness. They're so damn good. At least I avoided the fries, right?

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Tuesday's stats

I don't have much time here, so this will be bare bones.

Exercise:
40 minutes recumbent bike
About 5 minutes of crunches...just didn't have the time to do a whole pilates mat workout.

Food:
Breakfast:
Eggs scrambled with peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, and cheese, a mini-croissant, melon cubes, and OJ
Lunch: a cup of tomato soup and a half (pretty big for a "half") of a spinach, artichoke, lettuce, tomato, onion, mushroom, and feta sandwich
Snack: granola bar
Snack: square of chocolate
Dinner: cereal
Snack: a few handfulls of pretzels

See ya tomorrow.

Monday, January 11, 2010

Monday's stats

I know it's still Monday, but I'm in bed about to go to sleep, so I figured I may as well update now. I won't be eating anything else today.

Exercise:
40 minutes elliptical
20 minutes lifting (free weights and machines)

Food:
Breakfast: scrambled eggs (about 2 eggs worth), melon cubes, english muffin with butter, and a glass of OJ
Lunch: big burrito filled with grilled chicken, onions, peppers, and mushrooms, black olives, cheese, and salsa. AND I went to a Mexican restaurant and DIDN'T HAVE EVEN ONE TORTILLA CHIP. VICTORY IS MINE.
Snack: handful of roasted almonds
Snack: square of chocolate
Dinner: multi-grain cereal with skim milk

So not too bad today. The burrito was probably a bit high-calorie, but I was pretty good for the rest of the day that it will probably wind up being a wash. Yay. See ya tomorrow.

Sunday stats

Well, I knew stuff was going to spiral out of control sometime soon, so I forced myself to exercise again even though I didn't want to...and to thank me, that bitch Jenny McCarthy's Avatar on my Your Shape game decided that after the 30 minutes I signed up for was done, she would continue to make me to crunches for an additional 10 minutes. If I ever meet her in the flesh, I'm going to claw her eyes out. Anyway...

Exercise:
40 minutes Wii Your Shape

Food:
Breakfast: Bacon, egg, and cheese on a toasted plain bagel
Lunch: whole wheat bagel with smart balance spread and a side salad
Snack: handful of roasted almonds
Dinner: Susan and I split a 5 cheese and fruit plate, a basket of sliced baguette, and a cupcake. I also had 5 oz of wine. And I know this because I went to the place with the tasting machines, and I got myself 1 oz of 5 different wines. 3 red and 2 white.

My abs are killing me this morning. I've already been to the gym to do cardio, and hopefully I'll be able to get back there tonight for a quick lifting session. It really depends on how much work I have to do. I'll check back in tomorrow.

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Next week plan

I leave for New Orleans this afternoon, so next week is going to be a bit of a mess. I did my weigh in a day early. 141. So at least we're headed in the right direction. My main goal this week is to just not gain weight. It's hard when you're out of town, and especially hard when you're working with a difficult client and staying two blocks from Bourbon Street. It really makes you want to get drunk at night.

My plan is pretty much to do cardio at the hotel in the morning Monday - Friday and then Monday - Thursday also work out at night...just something quick like a pilates mat run through or some lifting. The gym at the hotel is really good. When I get back to Charlotte, I'll workout with the Wii for the weekend.

And now to the food. The free breakfast that I get in the concierge lounge varies from day to day, but I'll either have eggs or cereal and some fruit probably. For lunch, I'm going to try to stick to salad or a small sandwich or something like that. I'm also going to grab some almonds or something in case I need a snack. They put out a cheese and nuts and crackers buffet in the concierge lounge in the evenings, so if I need a snack after work, I'll have that. Fortunately, we have to work late, so Susan and I will probably buy a box of cereal and some milk and eat that for dinner Monday - Wednesday nights. So that will save calories. But tonight and Thursday night we'll be going out to dinner...I'll try to keep it under control, but I can guarantee you that wine will be involved. And Thursday night we're allowing ourselves to go to get bignets. Because they're delicious.

I think if I work out enough, I should be able to maintain my current weight. I also have to buy some bottles of water so that I can keep hydrated. It's only one week and then I'm back in Charlotte so I think I can handle it.

Last week I did a pretty good job, and thought I wouldn't reward myself, and the I saw these shoes. And bought them. Look how pretty!!

Ok, I only have a few hours today to do chores, exercise, and pack, so I'm outtie. I'll come to you from NOLA tomorrow.

Saturday Stats

I seriously did not want to work out Saturday, but I did because I remembered we were ordering dinner in. I also really wanted to get drunk, but I restrained myself and didn't open a bottle of wine like I wanted to. So it wasn't awful. Here we go:

Exercise:
30 minutes Wii Your Shape
15 minutes Wii Fit Yoga and balance games

Food:
Breakfast: egg and cheese on a sandwich thin, strawberries, and a glass of OJ
Lunch: Lean Cuisine and 5 chocolate covered almonds
Snack: cinnamon sugar almonds
Snack: Low fat string cheese
Dinner: two pieces cheese pizza, side salad, 3 (they're really small) garlic knots

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Friday stats

Friday got a little out of control because we had a happy hour for the new associates after work. But here we go:

Exercise:
30 minutes Wii Your Shape
15 minutes Wii Fit aerobics/balance games

Food:
Breakfast: same since Monday
Snack: low fat string cheese
Lunch: lean cuisine, arnold's honey wheat sandwich thin, 5 chocolate covered almonds
Snack: hot chocolate
Snack: cinnamon sugar almonds
Oops: two glasses white wine
Dinner: chicken pasta (made in crock pot)

At least I stayed away from the snacks at Happy Hour, right?

I may have to take an exercise break today or tomorrow...I'm just SO SORE.

Friday, January 8, 2010

Thursday Stats

I'm between meetings, so this will be a quick one!

Exercise:
35 minutes EA Active Wii workout
10 minutes Wii Fit yoga
50 minute pilates private lesson

Food:
Breakfast: see yesterday
Snack: low fat string cheese
Lunch: See yesterday (and add an additional piece of chocolate)
Snack: hot chocolate
Snack: 6 chocolate covered almonds (yes, I forgot my afternoon snack again and was famished while cooking dinner)
Dinner: Potato and spinach frittata and a side salad.

I'll check in again tomorrow. Peace!

Thursday, January 7, 2010

Wednesday Stats

Wednesday may have gotten a bit out of control. See below:

Workouts:
30 minutes Wii Your Shape
15 minutes Wii Fit aerobics
Line dancing...I was probably actually dancing for 45 minutes to an hour

Food:
Breakfast: same omelet, berries, and OJ as the other days
Snack: low fat string cheese
Lunch: I got tired of the squash soup. Instead, I ate my turkey, cucumber, and cheese sandwich and had a square of Dove chocolate.
Snack: I walked past Starbucks and had a hot chocolate craving. I resisted, and instead made a packet of hot chocolate at the office using hot water. 80 calories.
Dinner: I had a lean cuisine for 250 calories because I wasn't cooking. But I also forgot to have my mid-afternoon snack. So I then had about a tablespoon of Peanut Butter (out of the jar), about a serving of sour cream and cheddar baked lays, and a handful of pita chips. Good lord. I will not forget my almonds this afternoon.

Also, unless something awesome shows up on Lululemon this week, I'm not going to reward myself...I'm saving cash for a vacation with my girls this summer. More on that when I have more time.

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

Tuesday Stats

I'm super busy at work right now, so this is going to be a quick one!

Workouts:
30 minutes Your Shape cardio, 15 minutes Wii Fit Yoga
60 minutes tap class

Food intake:
Breakfast: the usual omelet, berries, OJ
Snack: low fat string cheese
Lunch: 4 oz butternut squash soup and turkey, cucumber, and cheese on a honey wheat sandwich thin
Snack: handful of brown sugar cinnamon almonds, mini baby ruth
Dinner: made rice and asian chicken in the crock-pot but hated the recipe (too spicy). Blake loved it. So he ate mine. And I ate a bowl of Frosted Flakes with Skim Milk.

I'll check back in tomorrow!

Tuesday, January 5, 2010

Monday notes

Here are my stats from yesterday. Not as great as I had originally wanted (damn you, free lunch), but not terrible. And I found out I get to be in town for the rest of the week, so I can actually stick to my original schedule. However, I do have to go to new Orleans next week...so I have to figure out how to make that work.

Monday's workout:
30 minutes cardio/strength on Wii You Shape
50 minutes pilates mat class

Monday's food intake:
Breakfast: two egg red bell pepper and low fat cheese omelet with a side of strawberries and a small glass of OJ
Lunch: One piece of bruschetta and a half of a grilled chicken cashew salad with feta, mixed greens, and artichokes with balsamic vinaigrette dressing
Snack: Turkey and cucumber sandwich on a honey wheat sandwich thin (a large snack, but I really wanted to eat my sandwich that I missed at lunch) and one square of dove chocolate
Dinner: frittata made with egg, low fat ricotta, spinach, and mushrooms and a side salad

Not too bad overall. Today I'm going home for lunch so I can throw together a crock pot dinner for later. Good times. Also, I've changed my reward for the week on account of my damn arms hurting so much without using wrist weights for my Your Shape workouts. I'm going with an on sale pair of lululemon shorts.

First Weigh-In and Set Backs, Volume 1

First Weigh-in: went as terribly as I imagined. Not helped by the two pieces of pizza I ate for dinner last night. 143. 143 for god's sake. In fairness, I've hovered between 135 and 140 for the past 3-4 years, so I'm only up a bit from then...and I blame my month long Laziness and Eating Olympics in December.

Set Backs, Volume 1: So this morning, I learned that the Your Shape Wii game doesn't let you do a 40 minute workout. Just 30 or 45. I was a little worried about getting to work on time, so I went with 30 minutes. In the future, I will add in some Wii Fit to get 10-15 more minutes of activity in.

Also, I arrived at work today to learn that (A) I need to take the new associates and interns out to lunch today (so right away, that's no good...and I really wanted my sandwich). I'll be looking at no part of the menu other than "Salads." And (B) there's a 90% chance I have to leave for New Orleans tomorrow morning. The place I hate the most in the world. Stellar. There's an excellent gym at the hotel so working out won't be a problem, but eating will. And trying to not drink is going to be impossible. But I'll just have to do my best I guess.

Well today is very busy, so I'll just check back in tomorrow morning with today's food and exercise log.

Sunday, January 3, 2010

Week 1 Goals

Ok, I'm ready to start this thing! Prior to my first weigh in tomorrow (b00) I have been eating like a normal person and exercising since Friday. So that should help me feel less disgusting when I get on the scale. I've also bought myself a few new workout outfits on mega sale this weekend, so I'm motivated!

Anyway, there's a decent chance that when I get back to work tomorrow (worst day of the year) I'll learn that I have to go to Winston-Salem from Tuesday - Friday (are you in town Megs?), so I'm going to have to reserve the right to change my eating and exercising schedule accordingly.

I am a creature of habit and schedules, so that's why I'm so specifically laying out my eating and exercising plans. I like to have something to stick to.

This week's reward is going to be a set of one pound wrist weights. I think it'll be useful for my Your Shape Wii workouts. Even without weights, my arms get tired by the end of the 30 minute session, so adding the resistance should be good. And they're only about $10.

Here's my general food plan for the week (assuming I'm in town). Also, I reserve the right to eat at a restaurant once a week to replace one of the below meals:
Breakfast: two egg omelet with 1/4 cup of diced red bell pepper and a sprinkle of low fat sharp cheddar, with a side of a few strawberries and a small glass of OJ
Lunch: cup of (homemade!) butternut squash soup and a turkey and cucumber sandwich on an Arnold's multigrain sandwich thin.
Dinner: I'm making a frittata and side salad one night, three nights of varieties of crock pot chicken with sides of either brown rice or whole wheat pasta, crock pot baked ziti with a side salad one night, and the rest will probably be cereal because I love having cereal for dinner.
Snacks: right now I have low fat string cheese, cinnamon sugar almonds, apples, and dove chocolate peanut butter squares readily available, so my goal is to eat up to 300 calories worth of those items depending on my hunger levels.

And now for the exercising. I'm done with my current gym because I want to work out in the morning and I can't make that work when I go there. So I'm quitting in favor of the 24-hour gym two blocks down - but that doesn't open until next week. So it's all about Wii workouts this week. Which is good, because I got a bunch of Wii exercise games for Christmas.

Monday: Your Shape 40 minute workout and pilates mat class
Tuesday: Your Shape 40 minute workout and possibly tap class at night
Wednesday: Your Shape 40 minute workout, possibly line dancing if the other girls want to go
Thursday: EA Active 30-day Challenge workout 2 and 15 minutes of Wii Fit Aerobics and Yoga, pilates lesson
Friday: Your Shape 40 minute workout, perhaps some Wii Fit activities after work
Saturday: Your Shape 30 minute workout, 30 minutes of Wii Fit aerobics and Yoga
Sunday: EA Active 30-day Challenge workout 3, 30 minutes of Wii Fit aerobics and Yoga

Ok, I'll be back tomorrow with the dreaded weigh-in. And the dreaded return to work after two and a half weeks. BOOOOO.
